The 2006 countdown is quickly approaching. So, if you’re stuck in town with nowhere in particular to go, read on for ideas on what to do this New Year’s Eve.
The most hopping part of Naples will be in full effect this New Year’s Eve. So, heading downtown to 5th Avenue may either be a headache waiting to happen, or your very own Studio 54 flashback waiting to happen. It just depends on your own personality, whether you can handle the bumper-to-bumper crowds of happy people, and depending on the size of your wallet. If you and your clan of ready to party friends are prepared to spend around 20 bucks ahead each place you go, then head downtown Naples and ring in the New Year with music, lights, and plenty of action. Just be sure to plan ahead on that designated driver or spare money for a taxi ride home.
Some of Naples may be less inclined to empty their pockets on New Year’s Eve. In that case, you can always hit up the movie theaters around town, spending the incoming year with your actor of choice…Tom Cruise anyone? Another idea is heading up to the Teco Arena, which will have ice-skating till midnight on the agenda. You could ice-skate with that special person and follow up that skate with a refreshingly cool New Year’s kiss.
For those of you who spent every last drop on Christmas presents, and didn’t get much money from the Aunt in Ohio or Uncle who lives down under, I suggest cozying in on your couch with friends and loved ones with a case of Old Milwaukee and a couple of bottles of Boones Farm. You can flip on the tube to watch the New Year unfold before your very eyes.
